PDP CANDIDATE PROMISES JOBS, EMPOWERMENT FOR ANAMBRA SOUTH

The Peoples Democratic Party senatorial candidate for Anambra South in the 2027 general election, Prince Samben Nwosu, has promised to prioritise job creation, sustainable empowerment and grassroots development if elected.

Nwosu, a former PDP organising secretary and former Federal Commissioner at the Public Complaints Commission, made the pledge during an interaction with journalists at his country home in Nnewi.

He said his proposed representation would focus on the socio-economic needs of residents across the seven local government areas that make up the senatorial district.

Nwosu said he was seeking election to the Senate to provide what he described as quality representation and promised to engage residents, particularly young people, to better understand their challenges.

He also proposed an empowerment programme aimed at providing longer-term economic opportunities rather than short-term assistance during election periods.

The candidate pledged that each of the seven local government areas would have a signature project under his proposed representation. He added that his proposed bills and motions would focus on issues affecting the daily lives and businesses of constituents.

On the 2027 election, Nwosu said he would oppose vote buying and electoral manipulation and urged voters to protect their ballots.

He also said the PDP would deploy its political structure to ensure votes were properly counted at polling units across the district.

Anambra South comprises Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Orumba North, Orumba South, Nnewi North and Nnewi South Local Government Areas.

The district has significant commercial and industrial activities, particularly around Nnewi, while agriculture, trade and small businesses remain important sources of livelihood.

Nwosu said his proposed legislative agenda would therefore focus on economic opportunities, support for businesses and grassroots development across the district.
