Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has stirred widespread conversation online after posing a thought-provoking question about infidelity and hypocrisy in relationships.

Taking to her Instagram page, the married actress asked women how they would react if they discovered that the man they were dating was secretly involved with a married woman who has children. According to Peggy, in the scenario she described, the man denies the allegation, insists the woman is “just a friend,” and is completely believed.

She further explained that the woman eventually marries the man, only to later uncover clear evidence showing that her husband and the married woman were never merely friends but had been having an affair all along. Peggy pointed out the irony in the situation, noting that the same man openly criticizes and condemns single women who get involved with married men.

Sharing the story, Peggy wrote:

“What will you do if you find out that the man you are dating is sleeping with a married woman with kids?
You asked him about it, but he totally denies it, saying they are just friends, and you completely believed him.
You eventually got married to him.
Your husband always hypes the married woman in public, but privately he tells you how local she is, just to manipulate you so you won’t suspect anything.”

The post quickly drew reactions from fans and followers, many of whom weighed in on the issue of cheating and double standards in relationships.

Meanwhile, Peggy’s personal life has continued to attract public attention. On Christmas Day, she raised eyebrows after sharing photos of herself alone in matching pyjamas beside her Christmas tree, noticeably excluding her husband, actor Frederick Leonard.

Earlier, in October, Frederick also sparked speculation after failing to publicly celebrate Peggy’s birthday, prompting questions from fans. In December, however, the actor addressed reports of marital trouble, warning bloggers against spreading false rumours. He stated that he and his wife do not owe social media explanations for their private lives, adding that marriage is not slavery.
