PETER OBI CELEBRATES CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE ON HER 48TH BIRTHDAY
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has celebrated award-winning Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, on her 48th birthday.
In a heartfelt message shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Obi described Chimamanda as a “literary Amazon” and a beacon of inspiration to millions across the world.
He praised her remarkable contributions to literature, feminism, and cultural discourse, noting how her work has become a light not only for herself but for society at large.
“Chimamanda has blossomed into a true literary giant, whose writings enrich global literature while uplifting humanity. She has used her extraordinary gift to tell our stories with dignity and raise new generations of storytellers,” Obi wrote.
He also recalled how Chimamanda’s return to her alma mater to reconnect with her former teachers was a powerful reminder of the importance of gratitude and staying rooted in one’s beginnings.
Obi concluded his tribute by celebrating her as both a sister and a global icon, praying for more wisdom, joy, and strength in the years ahead.
Chimamanda Adichie, one of Africa’s most celebrated authors, is known worldwide for her bestselling works including Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun, and Americanah. Her storytelling has earned her global recognition as a voice for truth, identity, and cultural pride.
