PLATFORM TACKLES ONLINE SHOPPING TRUST GAP WITH AI
A new Nigerian e-commerce platform has introduced artificial intelligence-powered tools to bridge the trust gap in online shopping, aiming to boost consumer confidence and drive digital commerce growth.
The platform uses AI for real-time seller verification, product authenticity checks, and personalised recommendation systems that prioritise verified and highly rated merchants. Its founder, Ms. Adaora Okoro, explained that building trust is essential for wider adoption of online shopping. “AI helps us create a safer and more transparent marketplace for both buyers and sellers,” she said.
Early users have reported higher satisfaction levels and increased willingness to make larger purchases. The innovation comes as e-commerce continues to expand in Nigeria despite concerns over fraud and counterfeit goods.
Analysts believe such technology-driven solutions could accelerate the sector’s growth and encourage more traditional retailers to go online.
The platform plans to expand its AI capabilities and partner with more merchants to strengthen its ecosystem.
