The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 10 suspects and recovered a firearm following violent incidents that disrupted the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.

The clashes reportedly broke out during the party’s primary elections, leading to chaos and tension among delegates and supporters at the venue.

Police authorities said swift intervention by security operatives helped restore order and prevent the situation from escalating further.

According to the command, one firearm was recovered from the suspects, along with other items believed to be connected to the disturbance.

The suspects are currently in custody and are assisting investigators with useful information as inquiries continue into the incident.

Security operatives have since been deployed to strategic locations to maintain peace and prevent further breakdown of law and order.

The police reiterated their warning against political violence, stressing that anyone found culpable would be made to face the full weight of the law.

The APC primaries, which are part of preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, have continued to witness heightened political tensions in some states.
