POLICE ARREST 62-YEAR-OLD WITH GUN, RECOVER INDIAN HEMP IN DELTA

Police in Delta State have arrested a 62-year-old man, Richard Nmorsi, over alleged possession of a firearm and a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.

The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Sector III, Ubuluku, arrested the suspect on October 21, 2026.

According to Edafe, officers acted on intelligence and searched Nmorsi’s residence in Ekuku-Agbor community, Ika South Local Government Area.

He said the search was conducted under a duly obtained warrant and led to the recovery of a locally fabricated single-barrel firearm and 24 live cartridges.

The report also referred to the recovery of suspected Indian hemp but did not provide its quantity.

The allegations against Nmorsi have not been determined by a court. The information provided did not state whether charges had been filed.
