The Police Command in Ebonyi State has confirmed the arrest of three suspects linked to the death of Master Ebuka Chukwu, an SS2 student of Federal Government College (FGC) Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area.

The confirmation came during a peaceful protest staged by members of the Okposi-Okwu community, where Ebuka hailed from. Protesters carried placards with messages such as “Who killed Ebuka?” and “IGP, stop the killing and bring justice.”

Community spokesperson Collins Agwu expressed outrage, citing an autopsy that revealed Ebuka was killed before being dumped in a stream to cover up the crime. He also alleged that a staff member, Mr. Danjuma, had directed Ebuka and other students to confront hoodlums on the day of the incident.

Agwu accused the school management of mishandling the matter, while another protester, Chiadikaobi Obasi, warned against the continued maltreatment of indigenous students.

The Vice Principal, Mr. Ojima Emmanuel, expressed shock and promised full cooperation to uncover the truth.

The tragic incident occurred on July 27, 2025.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
