The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers during a routine night patrol in the Idimu area of Lagos.

According to the police, the operation occurred around 2:00 a.m. on April 7, 2026, when officers intercepted three men riding a motorcycle near the Car Wash Bus Stop by First Bank.

The suspects Abdullahi Mustapha (20), Salisu Sannusi (30), and Jamiu Sahidu (26) were found in possession of a machete, an army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, a power bank, and cash believed to have been stolen. A Bajaj motorcycle was also recovered.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects had allegedly been involved in multiple robbery operations, targeting unsuspecting residents and escaping on a motorcycle.

The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, described the arrest as a significant success in the command’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and enhance public safety.

He assured residents that patrols and intelligence-driven operations would continue across the state to dismantle criminal networks.

The police also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, as investigations into the suspects’ activities continue.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
