The Kano State Police Command has announced a ban on vehicles without registration and those with covered or tampered number plates, as part of efforts to strengthen security and curb criminal activities in the state.

Police authorities said the directive is aimed at improving vehicle identification and reducing the use of unregistered vehicles for criminal operations.

According to the command, enforcement teams will be deployed across major roads and checkpoints to ensure full compliance with the order.

The police warned that any vehicle found operating without proper registration or with obscured plates would be impounded, while offenders would be prosecuted in line with the law.

Security officials noted that criminals often exploit unregistered or disguised vehicles to evade detection, making the enforcement necessary for public safety.

Motorists have been urged to regularize their vehicle documentation and ensure that number plates remain clearly visible at all times.

The command also appealed for public cooperation, stressing that the policy is part of broader measures to enhance security and maintain order on Kano roads.

Enforcement of the directive is expected to begin immediately across the state.
