The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed reports of an impending cult clash in parts of Lagos, describing the claims as false and misleading.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said the command had already taken proactive steps to prevent any breakdown of law and order in areas mentioned in the viral alert.

The message had referenced locations such as Shitta, Akerele, Itire/Aguda, and the Ishaga axis, alleging a planned retaliatory attack.

According to the police, officers and operational assets were immediately deployed to the identified areas and surrounding communities to ensure safety.

The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, also directed intensified patrols, increased police visibility, and strategic positioning of personnel across the affected locations.

The command reassured residents that the areas remain secure, with sufficient security presence to deter any criminal activity.

Residents were urged to go about their daily activities without fear, while remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious movements to authorities.

The police also cautioned against the spread of unverified information, stressing the importance of relying on official sources to avoid unnecessary panic.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
