The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men in Ibadan over the alleged possession and sale of suspected human parts.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, the suspects were apprehended during a stop-and-search operation in the Adekile area of Agugu.

Police operatives intercepted an unregistered motorcycle, and upon searching it, recovered a package containing what is believed to be human intestines.

The rider, identified as Oyategbe Joseph, was arrested on the spot and later confessed to obtaining the items from an unidentified individual in the Oritaperin area.

He reportedly admitted to selling the items to two other suspects, Onaolapo Taiwo and Ayodele Taiwo, the latter said to be a pastor.

Acting on this information, police tracked and arrested the two buyers, who also allegedly confessed to purchasing the suspected human parts.

The Commissioner of Police has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.

All three suspects remain in custody and are expected to be charged in court after investigations are concluded.

The police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, stressing that community cooperation is vital in maintaining law and order.
