The Lagos State Police Command has arrested suspected members of the Aiye cult group allegedly involved in violent attacks and killings in parts of the state.

The suspects were apprehended during coordinated operations carried out by tactical units following intelligence on cult-related activities in Lagos.

Police authorities said the operation led to the recovery of weapons, including firearms and other dangerous items allegedly used for gang-related operations.

According to the command, the suspects are believed to be linked to recent cult clashes and targeted attacks that have raised security concerns in some communities.

Investigators say the arrested individuals are currently in custody and assisting the police with information that could lead to the arrest of other members of the group.

The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to clamp down on cultism, violent crime, and other criminal activities across the state.

Residents have been urged to remain calm and continue to provide credible intelligence to security agencies to support ongoing operations in Nigeria.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
