POLICE RAID OGUN BABY FACTORY, RESCUE PREGNANT WOMEN AND CHILDREN

The Ogun State Police Command has uncovered a suspected baby factory in Mowe, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state, rescuing two pregnant women and four children during an operation. The development has renewed concerns over illegal activities involving vulnerable women and children in parts of the country.

The operation was reportedly carried out by police operatives following information that led security personnel to the location. During the raid, officers discovered the suspected facility and found the pregnant women and children within the premises.

The rescued women were reportedly found in circumstances that raised concerns about the activities taking place at the facility. The police subsequently took them into protective custody as investigations commenced to establish how they came to be at the location and identify others connected to the operation.

The four children were also rescued during the operation and are expected to receive necessary care while the authorities continue their investigation. Police investigators are working to determine whether the facility was involved in the illegal procurement, sale or trafficking of babies.

The latest development comes amid continued efforts by security agencies to dismantle criminal networks exploiting vulnerable people. Authorities have repeatedly warned Nigerians to report suspicious activities involving illegal maternity homes, child trafficking and other forms of exploitation.

The police are expected to intensify investigations into the suspected baby factory and establish the full extent of the operation. Further action could follow as investigators work to identify and apprehend other individuals allegedly connected to the facility.
