POLICE RECOVER STOLEN CARS, TRICYCLE IN KANO, ARREST SUSPECTS
The Nigeria Police Force in Kano State has recovered two stolen vehicles and a tricycle in separate operations, while arresting three suspects linked to one of the cases.
According to the Kano State Police Command, the recoveries were made through intelligence-led operations and support from members of the public.
Police spokesperson Abdullahi Kiyawa said one of the vehicles, a Pontiac Vibe valued at about ₦12 million, was stolen from a residence and was later recovered the same day in the Darmanawa area.
In another case, operatives tracked and recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla, which had earlier been taken from a church in Abuja before being located in Kano.
The command also intercepted a stolen tricycle along Ring Road and arrested three suspects, identified as Umar Rabi’u, Yahaya Hannafi, and Amina Muhammad, who are now assisting with investigations.
Authorities said the tricycle had been stolen after its rider was allegedly poisoned in Kaduna State, highlighting the dangerous methods used by some criminal groups.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori commended officers for their swift response and praised residents for providing useful information that aided the operations.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to tackling crime and urged the public to take precautionary measures, including installing tracking devices and promptly reporting suspicious activities.
The recovered vehicles and tricycles have since been returned to their rightful owners, while investigations continue to apprehend other suspects still at large.
