POLICE RESCUE 30 MALIAN NATIONALS IN NASARAWA HUMAN TRAFFICKING CRACKDOWN
Police authorities in Nasarawa State have rescued 30 nationals of Mali during an operation targeting a suspected human trafficking network in the state.
According to security officials, the victims were discovered during a raid carried out by police operatives following intelligence reports about suspicious movement and possible trafficking activities within the area.
The rescued individuals were reportedly being held under conditions that raised concerns about illegal migration and human trafficking. Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine how the victims were brought into Nigeria and the identities of those behind the operation.
Police also confirmed that some suspects connected to the trafficking network were arrested during the operation, while efforts continue to track down other individuals believed to be involved.
Human trafficking remains a major concern across parts of West Africa, with criminal networks often targeting vulnerable people through false promises of jobs, travel opportunities, or better living conditions.
Security agencies say cross-border cooperation has become increasingly important in tackling trafficking routes linking multiple countries in the region.
The rescued victims are expected to receive medical attention, protection, and further support as authorities continue investigations into the case.
Police have urged the public to report suspicious movements or activities that may be linked to trafficking or illegal migration operations.
