POLICE SHIFT TINTED GLASS PERMIT ENFORCEMENT TO OCTOBER 2
Nigeria Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Deadline to October
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has pushed back the deadline for enforcing the tinted glass permit requirement to October 2, 2025.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, approved the extension after a spike in applications through the official portal showed a growing number of Nigerians working to comply with the regulation.
In a statement issued on Monday by Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police said the extra time will be used to thoroughly review applications and ensure permits are granted only to eligible and qualified individuals, in line with national security concerns.
The NPF also noted that the delay will enable further upgrades to digital and physical verification processes, aimed at safeguarding the system's integrity and preventing abuse.
Members of the public have been urged to report any cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing through official complaint channels.
With the new deadline in place, motorists have a few more weeks to get their documents in order before the clampdown begins.
