PORTABLE DENIES PRISON SENTENCE RUMORS, AFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO MUSIC AND PERSONAL GROWTH
Popular Nigerian street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has publicly dismissed rumors suggesting he is serving a three-month prison sentence. The singer addressed the speculation through an official statement shared on his Instagram page on May 1, 2025.
“Portable is NOT in prison, has NOT been arrested, and is NOT serving any sentence,” the statement read.
The clarification comes after several online reports falsely claimed the artist had been convicted and jailed. According to Portable and his management, these claims are entirely misleading and untrue.
The statement went on to emphasize that all previous and ongoing legal issues have been fully resolved with the appropriate authorities. Portable is currently a free man and not involved in any legal proceedings.
Looking beyond the controversy, the singer described this period as a season of reflection and personal transformation. He expressed a strong commitment to personal growth, both as an artist and as an individual.
“This has been a time of learning and growth. Portable is focused on becoming a better artist, a better man, and a positive influence for his generation,” his team added.
Portable also reassured fans, event organizers, and brands of his continued availability for concerts, endorsements, and international appearances. He confirmed that he is actively working on new music and remains fully dedicated to his career.
Despite past controversies, the Zazoo Zehh crooner remains a major voice in Nigeria’s street music culture. With this latest declaration, Portable aims to silence distractions and channel his energy into creating impactful music and building meaningful collaborations.
