“PREGNANCY IS A BLESSING, NOT A CHOICE” – WOLI AROLE SPEAKS OUT ON SURROGACY
Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Woli Arole, has sparked conversation online after sharing his views on pregnancy and surrogacy. According to him, choosing surrogacy without medical reasons is a growing trend rooted in “woke ideologies” — and it’s not something he supports.
Taking to Instagram, Arole expressed that pregnancy is not just a biological process but a divine assignment for women. He urged women not to reject the natural process of childbirth unless medically necessary.
“It is a blessing for a woman to carry her baby in her womb. That’s how God wants it,” Arole wrote. “Don’t let weakness derail you. Unless for medical reasons, then you can adopt options like surrogacy or IVF. But not just because you don’t feel like carrying a child.”
He challenged the popular “my body, my choice” mindset, saying a woman’s body should be seen as a temple of God, not something subject to convenience or societal trends.
“No! Your body is God’s temple. Surrogacy is not something you just choose! There’s a reason God gave you a womb.”
While Arole acknowledged that some women face real health challenges and may need alternatives like IVF or surrogacy, he emphasized that such options should be a last resort, not a personal preference.
This isn't the first time the entertainer has shared his views on sensitive family matters. He has previously spoken in support of women having a voice in marriage, stating that submission doesn’t mean silence and that a wife’s opinion matters.
Woli Arole’s latest comments have sparked a wave of reactions, with some agreeing with his traditional stance, while others argue for respecting individual choices.
As the conversation around motherhood, identity, and personal freedom continues to evolve, one thing is clear — Arole isn’t afraid to voice his convictions, even on controversial topics.
