PRO-TINUBU GROUP PLANS 65,000-PERSON PRAYER RALLY, ENDORSES 2027 RE-ELECTION BID
A pro-government support group, the Renewed Hope Network (TRN), has announced plans to hold a massive congregational prayer rally in Lagos, expected to attract over 65,000 participants in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group also formally declared its backing for Tinubu’s re-election bid and endorsed Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat for the Lagos State governorship.
The Director General of TRN, Hon. Chief Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole, disclosed this during a press conference in Lagos, describing the planned gathering as an “epoch-making event” aimed at praying for national peace, prosperity, and divine guidance for the administration.
According to him, the congregational prayer is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2026, and will bring together participants from different geopolitical zones, religious organisations, traditional institutions, and grassroots groups across the country.
Danmole said the event would also serve as a platform for the formal endorsement of Tinubu for a second term as President and Commander-in-Chief.
He added that the group is not a conventional political organisation but a grassroots mobilisation platform focused on promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda across communities.
“Our mission is to directly engage with ordinary Nigerians in their own languages, respecting their cultures and traditions,” he said.
He also explained that the organisation’s core objective is to mobilise support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid while promoting civic participation, national unity, and good governance.
Prominent political figures mentioned at the event included Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari and James Abiodun Faleke, who were recognised for their roles within the group’s structure.
Danmole defended the Tinubu administration’s economic and governance reforms, stating that while the policies may be challenging in the short term, they are aimed at long-term stability and national development.
He listed areas of progress under the administration as infrastructure development, security reforms, education, social investment, and economic restructuring.
The group also called on Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious lines to participate in the prayer rally and support national unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
