PROCESS TO RIG 2027 ELECTIONS HAS BEGUN – ATIKU’S AIDE ALLEGES
Paul Ibe, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has already set in motion a process to rig the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in a recent interview on YouTube, Ibe claimed that the party, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has resorted to rigging because it has “nothing to show” after more than two years in power.
According to him, the APC is working aggressively to silence dissent across all platforms.
“They are working hard to ensure there is no opposition, whether it’s in the independent media, civil society, or political parties. That is what they are doing,” Ibe said.
He further alleged that the government’s clampdown on opposition figures was proof that the ruling party lacks performance-driven credentials.
“The only way for them to win an election is to begin the process of rigging it — and that process has already started,” he added.
The spokesperson lamented that Nigeria’s hard-won democracy is gradually being eroded and replaced with dictatorship under the present administration.
“The democracy that we have been practicing since 1999 was purchased at a very high price. A lot of activists were killed in that process.
Those who sacrificed their lives for what we are enjoying today would be sad in their graves seeing what is playing out now. What is playing out is dictatorship, and that is why people like Sowore are being harassed and intimidated,” he said.
