RCCG PLANS NATIONWIDE DIGITAL SKILLS PROGRAM FOR 8,400 YOUTHS
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Continent 3, has announced a major digital skills empowerment initiative targeting 8,400 Nigerians in celebration of the 84th birthday of its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
The programme, one of the key activities marking the cleric’s milestone birthday, aims to equip youths, young adults, church members, and the wider public with practical, income-generating digital skills, addressing rising unemployment and the growing global digital economy.
Coordinated by Love Transformation Academy, the empowerment arm of RCCG Love Assembly, Lagos Province 1, in partnership with Faith Cometh Multimedia Consultants, the initiative will offer structured training across RCCG parishes within Continent 3.
At a press conference in Lagos on Sunday, Continent 3 Overseer Pastor Johnson Odesola highlighted the church’s commitment to both spiritual and socio-economic development.
“This digital empowerment programme is a practical contribution to national development. It is designed not only to celebrate our father in the Lord at 84 but also to create lasting value by investing in people,” Odesola said.
He added that the initiative prepares young Nigerians for opportunities in the digital sector. “We are equipping 8,400 participants with skills that can open doors to employment, freelancing, and business ownership. This aligns with our Vision 2032 agenda for growth and transformation.”
Training will cover areas such as video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, social media management, animation, content creation, and monetisation of digital skills. All courses are free, with registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
Odesola explained that RCCG parishes across regions, provinces, and zones will serve as local study centres, ensuring accessibility and grassroots participation. Sessions will also be broadcast via Zoom, allowing participants to join from their parishes while benefiting from centralised instruction.
“This decentralised approach ensures digital inclusion,” he noted. “Beyond technical skills, participants will receive mentorship, follow-up support, and opportunities to engage in community-based projects. The programme is open to everyone, including non-church members.”
Expected outcomes include the creation of new employment and freelance opportunities, the development of digital entrepreneurs and content creators, and the expansion of faith-driven social impact through skills development.
Coordinator Pastor Richard Ayibiowu described the programme as “a faith-based response to the economic realities facing many young people.”
“We believe the Church must not only preach hope but also provide platforms that make hope practical,” he said. “By equipping individuals with monetisable digital skills, we are helping them build sustainable income pathways and contribute meaningfully to society.”
Pastors and church leaders across all regions and provinces have been mobilised to publicise the programme and facilitate seamless registration through designated study centres.
The empowerment scheme forms part of the celebrations for Pastor Adeboye’s 84th birthday, reflecting his enduring focus on youth development, education, and national transformation.
“With this initiative, we honour our General Overseer’s legacy of raising empowered, purpose-driven individuals,” Odesola said. “Our goal is to see thousands transformed, not only spiritually but economically.”
Registration details and further information are available through RCCG administrative offices across Continent 3.
