REAL BETIS PULLS OUT OF ANTONY DEAL, CITES MANCHESTER UNITED’S HIGH DEMANDS
Spanish club Real Betis has officially withdrawn from the race to sign Brazilian winger Antony from Manchester United, citing financial constraints.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks between both clubs stalled with no significant progress made. Betis confirmed in a statement on Friday that they could no longer pursue the deal due to the costs involved.
“There is no agreement for Antony and we have withdrawn the offer. We can’t afford the fee and the amounts that Manchester United must instead pay the player before the transfer,” the club said.
With Betis now out of the picture, Antony’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain as United continue weighing their options for the winger.
Meanwhile, over in Germany, Bayern Munich are pushing to finalize a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson. Romano reports that the Bundesliga champions want the deal wrapped up before Monday, just ahead of the summer transfer deadline.
