Nollywood actress Rita Daniels has spoken out following her defeat in the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) presidential election.

On her Instagram page, she shared a video showing herself reaching out to the less privileged. In the clip, the mother of Regina Daniels is seen distributing food and drinks to the crowd that had gathered around her.

In her caption, Rita expressed gratitude to God for all her blessings.

“Thank you, God, for all you have done. May your name alone be praised. Hallelujah!”

Rita had contested for the presidency of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, running against the current National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu. The election took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, during the Association’s Annual General Meeting in Benin, Edo State, to choose a successor to outgoing president Emeka Rollas.

Unfortunately, Rita lost the election to her opponent, Abubakar Yakubu.

Rita has had her share of public challenges. In 2022, she faced online ridicule after her defeat in the PDP House of Assembly primary election for Aniocha South Constituency, Delta State, where she secured only one vote.

In March 2023, she earned a Bachelor’s degree from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). She shared photos from her convocation ceremony and revealed that she would be heading to Law school.

Later that year, she was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Women’s Mobilisation. Sharing the news on Instagram, Regina Daniels praised her mother for her dedication and persistence, noting that her selfless efforts had finally yielded positive results and would continue to bear fruit.
