RIVERS CRISIS: MISCONDUCT NOTICE ISSUED TO FUBARA AND DEPUTY
The notice stated in part: “In accordance with Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and other applicable laws, we, the undersigned members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, hereby submit a Notice of Gross Misconduct against the Deputy Governor of Rivers State in the execution of her official duties.”
The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a notice of misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu.
In the notice dated March 16, the lawmakers stated that their actions were in accordance with the Nigerian Constitution.
A portion of the notice reads: “In adherence to Section 188 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), and other relevant laws, we, the undersigned members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, hereby present a Notice of Gross Misconduct against the Deputy Governor of Rivers State in the discharge of her official duties.”
