ROBY EKPO REJECTS ₦100 MILLION DEMAND, READY FOR COURT BATTLE WITH MAYOWA LAMBE
Media personality Robert Ekpo has rejected a ₦100 million damages demand made by his estranged wife, On-Air Personality Mayowa Lambe, saying the claims against him are excessive and without basis.
Ekpo, through his lawyers at TAP Legal Services, shared his official response on Instagram on Thursday, just one day after Lambe’s legal team issued a cease-and-desist notice over statements he made on The Honest Bunch podcast.
In the letter, Ekpo’s legal team said he strongly denies all allegations made against him and rejected claims that his statements were false, malicious, or defamatory.
According to the response, any comments made by Ekpo were based on his personal experiences and what he believed to be true at the time.
His lawyers also argued that the issues being discussed came from a complicated personal relationship and should not be presented in a one-sided manner.
They described the ₦100 million compensation demand as excessive, premature, and not justified.
The legal team further stated that Ekpo has documentary and testimonial evidence that allegedly contradicts several claims made by Lambe’s side. They said such evidence would be presented if the matter gets to court.
Ekpo also warned that if legal action is taken against him, he would defend himself fully and may file counterclaims for harassment, intimidation, and reputational damage.
In a stronger statement, the letter mentioned that parts of Lambe’s notice could be used as evidence in a possible petition to the United States immigration authorities.
The public dispute began after Ekpo appeared on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he made several allegations about Lambe and their past relationship.
In response, Lambe’s legal team denied the claims and stated that their traditional marriage had already been dissolved by family agreement before May 2025.
They also said Lambe has records and documents that challenge Ekpo’s version of events.
As of Thursday, the conflict continued to attract heavy attention online, with both legal letters now circulating on social media.
Many observers are now watching to see whether the matter will move fully into court or be resolved privately.
