SALAH EXTENDS DEAL WITH LIVERPOOL UNTIL 2027.
Mohamed Salah has extended his contract with Liverpool, ensuring he will remain at Anfield past the 2024–25 season.
The Egyptian forward, who joined the Reds from AS Roma in 2017, is having another standout season, scoring 32 goals in 45 matches across all competitions. With 27 of those in the Premier League, he currently tops the scoring charts, and he has also contributed 22 assists.
At 32, Salah expressed his happiness about continuing his career with the Merseyside club.
“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.
“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
The news provides a major boost for manager Arne Slot, who will look to rely on Salah’s influence as Liverpool aim to challenge for top honours once more.
Salah, already considered one of the finest players in the club’s history, sits third on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list with 243 goals in 394 appearances. His time at Anfield has seen him help the club win seven major trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, Super Cup, FA Cup, and two League Cups.
His personal accolades consist of three Premier League Golden Boot titles, two PFA Players' Player of the Year awards, and two FWA Footballer of the Year honours.
Thanking fans for their continued support, Salah added, “I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”
