SALLAH: COMPLETE TEXT OF TINUBU’S EID-EL-KABIR MESSAGE TO NIGERIANS
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his 2025 Eid-el-Kabir message to the nation, has appealed to Nigerians to remain patient and steadfast as his administration’s reform agenda progresses. He assured citizens that the most difficult phase is now behind and expressed optimism about the nation's future.
In a statement commemorating the Muslim festival of Eid-el-Kabir, the President emphasized that although the road has been tough, the reforms are beginning to yield tangible benefits.
Below is the full message:
I warmly felicitate with Nigerian Muslims and the entire Muslim community around the world on this year's Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This sacred occasion marks the climax of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah—a spiritually significant period filled with opportunities for worship, reflection, and acts of goodness. It is a time to thank Almighty Allah for His boundless mercy and favour upon us individually and collectively as a nation.
While the festivities bring joy and togetherness, Eid-el-Kabir’s deeper essence lies in its call to emulate sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness—values exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) in his unwavering submission to Allah’s command, and as taught by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Let this solemn celebration renew our dedication to these enduring virtues.
Eid also serves as a reminder of our broader civic duties—demonstrating resilience, compassion, tolerance, and commitment to building a stronger Nigeria.
As President, I reaffirm my dedication to these principles and sincerely thank Nigerians for their patience and resilience during this era of transformation. Despite the difficulties we’ve faced together, we are now heading toward a hopeful and prosperous future.
Admittedly, the journey has come with challenges, and not everyone agreed with the course. Yet, the determination of leaders in both public and private sectors, supported by the perseverance of the Nigerian people, is beginning to bear fruit.
I assure you that the hardest moments are now behind us. We are stepping into the period of renewed hope and progress we envisioned two years ago.
Though we’ve not yet reached our desired destination, I urge every Nigerian to stay hopeful and faithful. The impact of our reforms is becoming evident through improving economic indicators, and soon, these positive changes will be felt more broadly.
Our ultimate goal isn’t just economic growth on paper—it’s about real, lasting improvement in the lives of our citizens and laying a solid foundation for sustainable development.
There are no shortcuts, but we are determined to rebuild the economy’s foundation permanently. This government will continue to prioritize the nation’s welfare, ensuring that current gains are converted into real benefits for all.
The Renewed Hope Agenda remains our blueprint for inclusive prosperity, and we are unwavering in our mission. As we celebrate this holy day, let us embody the spirit of Eid—compassion, love, and generosity—toward everyone, irrespective of faith or background. I also reflect on recent tragic events, notably the severe flooding on May 28 in Mokwa, Niger State, which led to loss of lives and property and sparked a major humanitarian crisis. Let us remember the victims in our prayers and support relief efforts. May the souls of the departed find peace, and may their families be comforted.
As we observe this celebration, I urge continued prayers for our security personnel who sacrifice daily for our safety.
Let us also lift our leaders and our country in prayer. In a world filled with conflict and uncertainty, may this sacred season be a time to seek divine guidance and peace for Nigeria and beyond. May those who are blessed with abundance remember the less fortunate, sharing kindness and support in the true spirit of brotherhood and unity. Let the values of perseverance, loyalty, sacrifice, and shared humanity draw us closer together as one nation.
I pray that the blessings and joy of Eid-el-Kabir multiply in our lives and in the life of our great nation.
May Almighty Allah accept our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship. Amen.
