SANWO-OLU CELEBRATES LAGOS POLITICAL LEADER BUSURA ALEBIOSU AT 90
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated elder statesman and Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, Otunba Busura Alebiosu, as he marks his 90th birthday.
Alebiosu, a respected political figure and traditional title holder in Ijebuland, turns 90 on Friday, April 24.
In a statement released on Thursday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu described the nonagenarian as a “stabiliser and leader of leaders” who has made lasting contributions to politics and governance in Lagos State.
The governor praised Alebiosu for his many years of service in public life and his active role in shaping the political direction of Lagos since the beginning of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
Sanwo-Olu said Alebiosu has remained committed to the political process over the years, recalling his time as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, where he represented the Somolu/Kosofe constituency.
He also noted that the celebrant has remained active in Lagos politics from the era of former Governor Sir Michael Otedola through the Third Republic and into the current democratic dispensation.
Describing him as one of the state’s guiding lights, the governor highlighted Alebiosu’s calm nature, humility, wisdom, and wealth of experience.
He said such leadership qualities are rare and valuable in today’s political environment.
Sanwo-Olu also offered prayers for the elder statesman, wishing him continued good health, clarity of mind, and many more years of impactful leadership.
Otunba Busura Alebiosu is widely regarded as one of the influential voices within Lagos politics and a respected figure among party leaders in the state.
