Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Summa Group, an internationally renowned construction company, for the development of the highly anticipated Lekki-Epe International Airport.

The governor disclosed this via a statement on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, highlighting the project’s potential to enhance connectivity, boost economic growth, and attract foreign investment.

"This groundbreaking initiative is an essential part of our vision to improve connectivity in Lagos, stimulate economic growth, and draw in global investments," Sanwo-Olu stated.

According to him, the Lekki-Epe International Airport will revolutionize travel in Lagos, providing new opportunities for businesses and residents across the state.

With Lagos emerging as a major business hub in Africa, the new airport is expected to ease congestion at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, drive real estate development, and further solidify Lagos as Nigeria’s economic powerhouse.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure that positions Lagos as a leading global city.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
