SECURITY FORCES FOIL BANDIT ATTACK IN KATSINA, TWO RESIDENTS INJURED
Security operatives have successfully repelled an attempted bandit attack in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, preventing what could have been another tragic incident.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on his X handle on Monday, noting that the attack occurred on Friday, August 16, at about 9:45 p.m.
According to him, armed bandits were advancing towards Ruwan Sanyi, Unguwar Makera Village, when a distress call was made.
“Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working jointly with the police and vigilante members, quickly mobilised to the area, leading to a fierce gun battle that forced the bandits to abandon their mission to kidnap residents and rustle livestock,” Makama explained.
During the shootout, two residents — Muhammad Inuwa and Babale Abdulkarim — sustained leg injuries. They were rushed to Malumfashi General Hospital, where doctors confirmed that they are in stable condition.
Security forces have since extended their patrols to the Garin Gafa area of Kafur Local Government, as part of efforts to track down the fleeing bandits.
This latest intervention has been praised as another win in the fight against banditry in the state, as authorities continue to strengthen collaboration between security agencies and local vigilantes.
