Troops Intercept Bandits in Katsina, Capture Suspect Alive

Security forces in Katsina State have successfully thwarted a late-night bandits’ attack, arresting one suspect during a raid in Kuki, Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area.

The operation took place on Friday night when troops confronted a group of armed men who had infiltrated the community. According to reports, a brief exchange of gunfire ensued before the suspects scattered.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama shared a video of the operation on Saturday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, showing the moment operatives secured the captured suspect.

While one suspect was taken alive, the rest of the gang escaped into nearby hideouts. Security sources confirm that the arrested man is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation, as efforts to track down his accomplices continue.

The swift action by the security forces has been hailed as another step in protecting vulnerable communities from bandit attacks in Katsina and the wider North-West region.
