SENATE PRESIDENT COMMENDS TINUBU FOR FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised President Bola Tinubu for eliminating the fuel subsidy. He also expressed that he wished he had served as a governor during Tinubu’s administration.
Akpabio pointed out that many current governors receive about four times the funds he had access to while he was governor of Akwa-Ibom State.
“They claim we are rubber-stamp senators, but we carefully examine every submission that comes before us. We thoroughly review all proposals to serve Nigerians’ best interests, even if public opinion initially disagrees.
We are grateful for the tax reforms and for removing the fuel subsidy. I truly wish I had been a governor under your leadership, as many current governors receive four times what we had,” Akpabio said.
"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."— Editorial Board
