The Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Sunday Karimi, has publicly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reelection in 2027, urging his constituents to rally behind the president and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Friday at his country home in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area, Karimi assured residents of enhanced representation and ongoing development interventions if both he and the president receive continued support.

Our priority is to ensure the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027. I am not in a political tussle with anyone whatsoever in the state,” Karimi declared. “The reelection of President Tinubu is a task that must be accomplished by all critical stakeholders in Kogi State.

The senator engaged with constituents on local concerns, particularly focusing on security and infrastructure. He commended Tinubu’s efforts at national progress, insisting that the administration’s initiatives are aimed at ensuring citizen security despite challenges. Karimi warned that rising insecurity is sometimes used to undermine government achievements, urging residents not to lose hope.

Regarding safety in Kogi West, Karimi briefed attendees on his recent meeting with the Brigade Commander in Lokoja. As a result, he revealed that troops would be deployed to communities including Olle-Bunu, Jege, Odo-Ere, Idofin, and Isanlu to bolster local security.

On infrastructure development, particularly the delayed reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe road, Karimi stated, “The Federal Ministry of Works is awaiting approval from the Bureau of Public Procurement to commence the project. I have personally contributed N3 billion, N2 billion from my constituency allowance, and an additional N1 billion to supplement the project’s funding and expedite its completion.”

The senator concluded by pledging to continue lobbying for initiatives that would drive the development and progress of Kogi West, while emphasizing his commitment to the success of President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.

Karimi’s remarks highlight a coordinated push in Kogi State for APC consolidation ahead of the next general elections, reinforcing party unity and voter mobilization at the grassroots level.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
