Embattled Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has stirred speculation of a potential defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after sharing a video of herself enjoying a song that praises President Bola Tinubu.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the senator posted a 15-second TikTok clip, where she appeared amused and repeatedly played a track by popular Kano singer Dauda Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara.

The song, titled “Asiwaju Omo Ologo”—meaning “Asiwaju, the glorious child” in Yoruba—was performed during President Tinubu’s recent official visit at a banquet hosted by Katsina Governor Dikko Umar Radda.

Senator Natasha’s post has since raised questions among her followers, with many wondering if she is considering joining the wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Conversely, some analysts believe Senator Natasha’s recent post may be a satirical jab aimed at ridiculing the APC government, especially in light of her ongoing clash with Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The two lawmakers remain entangled in a series of legal battles involving allegations of sexual harassment, attempted murder, and defamation of character.

Their relationship took a sharp turn in February after a fiery exchange on the Senate floor, when Natasha disrupted proceedings to protest a controversial change in seating arrangements.

In retaliation to efforts by the Senate to sanction her, she made a startling revelation on national television, accusing Akpabio of trying to silence her for allegedly rejecting his sexual advances. Her actions led to a six-month suspension from the Senate for what was deemed gross misconduct.
