SERIE A: ATALANTA BOSS SAYS LOOKMAN MUST SHOW COMMITMENT TO EARN RECALL

Atalanta CEO, Luca Percassi, has made it clear that Ademola Lookman will only be welcomed back into the squad if he shows full commitment to the club.

The Nigerian forward had pushed for a move to Inter Milan during the summer, even submitting a transfer request and training separately in England. However, the deal collapsed after Inter pulled out, leaving Lookman to return to Bergamo.

The 28-year-old was left out of Atalanta’s squad in their weekend win over Lecce, and head coach Ivan Juric has hinted he may also miss the upcoming Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to DAZN, Percassi stressed that the winger must prove his focus is with Atalanta.

“We know how important Lookman is for Atalanta, but the club has some very basic principles. We need players who are ready to give 100 percent for this jersey and remain totally concentrated on our cause, because every game is difficult.”

Lookman was a standout performer for Atalanta last season, but his future with the club now depends on whether he can convince management of his commitment.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
