SHETTIMA ARRIVES IN CôTE D’IVOIRE FOR PRESIDENT OUATTARA’S INAUGURATION
Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the swearing-in of President Alassane Ouattara for his fourth term in office.
According to a statement from the Office of the Vice President, Shettima will join other African leaders and international dignitaries at Monday’s inauguration ceremony, which will take place at the Presidential Palace.
Upon his arrival, Shettima was received by Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Robert Mambe, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy, Item Akpama, and other senior officials.
President Ouattara secured re-election on October 25th, earning another term in a country that maintains strong diplomatic ties with Nigeria.
The statement emphasized that “Nigeria remains committed to supporting sister nations in West Africa and upholding constitutional governance. Shettima is expected to reaffirm Nigeria’s dedication to democratic values and to leadership transitions based on constitutional processes.”
