Singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has dismissed reports alleging that fellow artiste Burna Boy once gave him N600,000 during a period of financial hardship.

Speaking recently on the Adesope Live show, Skales described the claim as false and said it originated from a Burna Boy fan on X (formerly Twitter).

According to the singer, the individual fabricated the story out of malice, spreading misinformation that negatively affects artists and the music industry as a whole.

“There was a time I had to reach out to a Burna Boy fan on Twitter. I think his name is Benny or something. I asked him what I had done to deserve the kind of hate he was showing towards me,” Skales said.

“He went ahead to create fake news that I was broke at some point and that Burna Boy helped me with N600,000. That never happened.”

Skales used the opportunity to caution artists against allowing overzealous fans to create unnecessary rivalry among them. He advised his colleagues to communicate directly with one another whenever issues arise, rather than relying on unverified information circulating on social media.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
