Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, carried out an unscheduled inspection of the State Secretariat in Awka on Thursday, warning civil servants who fail to meet performance standards.

During the visit, Soludo assessed staff conduct, punctuality, and overall dedication to public service across various ministries and departments. He described his observations as “the good, the bad and the ugly,” while commending disciplined personnel who maintain professional integrity and adhere to official work hours.

Addressing workers, the governor issued a stern warning to underperforming staff: “Those who fail to meet time-keeping standards will be shown the way out. The era of lacklustre performance and entitlement in the civil service has come to an end.”

He emphasized the administration’s reform agenda, including the deployment of digital workflows to enhance efficiency and transparency, rigorous performance tracking for accountability, and continued infrastructural upgrades to ensure a conducive working environment.

Soludo stated that the visit underscores the government’s commitment to transforming Anambra’s bureaucracy into a high-performing system capable of delivering effective governance, integrating technological innovation with strict oversight to improve service delivery for the people of Anambra State.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
