The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerian youths to harness their unique talents and creativity to solve societal challenges and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Soludo, who is also the founder of the NGO Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, made the call in a statement released on Tuesday to mark the 2026 World Creativity and Innovation Day.

She said innovation should not be limited to technology, but should include everyday problem-solving, creativity, and efforts that improve lives and communities.

“Today, we celebrate the power of ideas, the courage to think differently, and the beauty of innovation that drives progress across our communities,” she said.

She encouraged young people, dreamers, and innovators to embrace their individual strengths, noting that every talent has the potential to create positive change.

“On this World Innovation and Creativity Day, I encourage every young mind, every dreamer, and every changemaker to embrace their unique gifts. Innovation is not only about technology; it is about finding new ways to solve problems, uplift others, and create opportunities where none existed before,” she said.

Soludo expressed pride in the creativity and resilience of young people in Anambra State, especially in entrepreneurship, education, and skilled trades, saying they are contributing to a more inclusive future.

She also called for sustained investment in human capital and support for young innovators.

“Let us continue to nurture curiosity, support bold ideas, and invest in the talents of our people. Because within each of us lies the potential to transform our world,” she added.

World Creativity and Innovation Day is observed globally on April 21, under the United Nations, to promote creative thinking as a driver of sustainable development and problem-solving worldwide.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
