"SOMETHING IS CLEARLY AMISS" – PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE LAMENTS OVER BENUE MASSACRE [VIDEO]
Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has strongly condemned the recent killing of over 200 residents in the Yelwata community of Benue State.
Speaking during the Commanding the Day Midnight Prayers on Monday, the clergyman described the incident as one of the worst massacres in Nigeria's recent history. He stressed that the frequency and scale of such attacks point to a deeper issue within the country.
“There is a climate of gloom in our land today,” he said. “The bloodshed is overwhelming. The atmosphere is heavy with doom and darkness.”
Pastor Enenche, who was ministering at a crusade in the Czech Republic when the tragic news broke, labeled the attackers as "non-human" and "agents of death," claiming that no person with a conscience could carry out such acts.
“They killed people and even set some victims on fire while still alive,” he lamented. “Even those who lack empathy usually have some compassion for children. These attackers clearly don’t.”
Extending his condolences to the Yelwata community, the people of Benue State, and all Nigerians pained by the tragedy, Pastor Enenche criticized both the government and citizens for their inaction.
“As a nation, something is wrong somewhere. There’s a total breakdown – from the government to the ordinary citizen,” he said. “Will the authorities continue to sit back and watch until everyone is wiped out? Will lawmakers keep doing business as usual?”
He questioned the role of the military, noting their acclaimed strength and success in global peacekeeping efforts, including in Liberia. “Is it that the military lacks the will to act here at home?”
He issued a strong warning to Nigerians, saying, “A time may come when some of our so-called big men will have no villages left to return to.”
