Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has hit back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, calling him a criminal and murderer.

The fiery exchange began after Wike mocked Sowore for frequently criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Wike had warned that Sowore was only “lucky” that Tinubu is a tolerant leader, adding that under a different president, such outspokenness could have dire consequences.

In a sharp response on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page, Sowore accused Wike of gross misconduct and alleged crimes committed during his time as Rivers State governor. He described Wike as a “drunkard, land-grabber, and murderer,” insisting the minister should be facing trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Sowore further alleged that Wike stole lands in Abuja, looted Rivers State resources, and ordered the killings of Igbos at Obigbo during military operations in 2020.

This heated exchange has sparked fresh debates about accountability, governance, and the place of impunity in Nigeria’s political system.
