Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, sponsored The Library, an installation celebrating knowledge, cultural continuity, and insight at the 10th edition of ART X Lagos.

The 2025 fair, themed “Imagining Otherwise, No Matter the Tide,” encouraged audiences to explore how imagination can shape healthier, more connected urban futures. Over the years, ART X Lagos has become a key platform for contemporary African artistic expression.

Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers said the partnership reflects its belief that creativity, knowledge, and cultural preservation are crucial to building thriving societies.

This year, the organisation expanded its engagement with The Library, an interactive space designed for quiet reflection and shared discovery, inspired by the resilience of Nigeria’s mangrove ecosystems.

At the event, Chief Executive Olumide Oyetan highlighted how the theme mirrors Nigeria’s resilience, reflected in the ingenuity and determination of communities across the country. He noted that imagination fuels not only artistic expression but also long-term planning, resilience, and financial confidence, enabling individuals to envision possibilities beyond the present and build sustainable futures. He described The Library as a space for learning, inspiration, and forward-thinking.

Oyetan emphasised the importance of nurturing young minds, encouraging them to appreciate art, and inspiring them to imagine a promising future. He also lauded African artists for their creativity and innovation, highlighting that celebrating this cultural heritage demonstrates the potential for positive societal change. He concluded by urging everyone to embrace their culture and the promise of the future.

The event also featured the signature Kids Tour, hosting 60 students from Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta; Mile High International School, Ikotun; and Roy Dek Academy, Makoko, Yaba, Lagos.

Since ART X Lagos’ inception in 2016, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers’ involvement has evolved from a simple contribution to a purposeful collaboration aimed at nurturing artistic expression and amplifying African perspectives globally. Alongside The Library, the organisation hosted a private VIP experience for select clients, providing an intimate view of standout artworks and a space for thoughtful conversations on legacy, creativity, and the evolving African art landscape.

Through these initiatives, ART X Lagos and Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers continue to strengthen the connection between art, education, and community engagement.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
