Sterling Bank and StarTimes have launched solar financing hubs to accelerate access to clean energy for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and households across Nigeria.

The partnership introduces flexible financing models under the Imperium Solar Scheme, enabling businesses to acquire solar installations with minimal collateral and reduced upfront costs.

StarTimes Smart Solar, in collaboration with Sterling Bank’s Imperium platform, aims to address high energy costs that constitute a significant portion of operational expenses for MSMEs. The initiative combines technical expertise with innovative payment structures to promote solar adoption.

Officials highlighted that the hubs will provide end-to-end support, including site assessment, installation, and after-sales service, while offering competitive interest rates and tailored repayment plans.

Stakeholders believe the move will drive sustainable energy transition, reduce reliance on diesel generators, and boost productivity in underserved communities.
