The South-West chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday re-elected Isaac Kekemeke as its National Vice Chairman for the zone. The election took place at the South-West Zonal Congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos, with 3,188 delegates from the six South-West states participating. The executives were returned through a consensus arrangement ratified by voice vote.

Other officials elected include Femi Aluko (Secretary), Lateef Ibirogba (Organising Secretary), Ayo Afolabi (Publicity Secretary), Adeduyi Daramola (Youth Leader), Ismail Majaro (Legal Adviser), and Dayo Ishola (Representative of Persons with Disabilities). Party leaders pledged to deliver a landslide victory for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Among dignitaries present were Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos State Governor), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun State Governor), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti State Governor), and Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo State Governor). Former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba, Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos State House Speaker Mudasiru Obasa, and Osun APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji were also in attendance.

Speaking on behalf of the South-West governors, Sanwo-Olu described the congress as peaceful and reflective of the party’s unity in the region. Kekemeke expressed confidence in the party’s strength and pledged to improve performance in the next general election.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
