S’WEST PDP REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR MAKINDE, URGES UNITY AHEAD OF 2027
The South-West leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has reaffirmed its total support for Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, while calling on Nigerians to remain united despite political differences.
The party made this known on Monday during a press briefing at its zonal headquarters, Adagunodo House, Ibadan, through its Zonal Secretary, Sanya Atofarati.
Atofarati praised Makinde’s administration, saying the governor has demonstrated stability, focus, and commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people.
He added that Makinde has also played an important role in sustaining and strengthening multi-party democracy in Nigeria.
The PDP also reaffirmed loyalty to the party’s National Working Committee under the leadership of Aminu Turaki.
According to the zonal leadership, the party remains ready to provide what it described as a credible and people-driven alternative centred on stability, good governance, and national development.
The party dismissed rumours of an alleged impeachment plot against Makinde, describing the reports as false and deliberately designed to create unnecessary political tension.
It also criticised former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, over recent comments, saying his remarks were irresponsible and harmful to public discourse.
The PDP urged Nigerians to stay calm, vigilant, and united, warning against disgruntled political actors attempting to manufacture crises ahead of the 2027 elections.
