‘THEY BURNT MY HOUSE AND SHOT ME’ — FULANI PASTOR ATTACKED AFTER FAITH CONVERSION
A Fulani man who embraced Christianity and became a pastor has shared his ordeal, claiming that his own people turned against him for abandoning Islam.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the man identified as Pastor Adamu Musa, revealed that after living in the Miango community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State for over 17 years, he and his family have repeatedly faced attacks from Fulani militants.
According to him, the assailants have been launching periodic and unprovoked assaults on the community—killing residents, destroying farmlands, and occupying ancestral lands.
Pastor Musa said his people marked him for elimination after he converted to Christianity and began preaching against their violent actions. He recounted how they attempted to kill him by shooting at him and setting his house on fire.
In the video, he narrated:
“My name is Pastor Adamu Musa. I am a Fulani man who converted from Islam to Christianity.
I was sent to Miango for pastoral work and have lived among the native people for over 17 years. During this time, my people have attacked me several times because I became a Christian and kept preaching to them to stop attacking others.
I have fallen into the hands of Fulani attackers on multiple occasions. They have continued attacking people in Miango for no reason. The day I was attacked, I was on a motorcycle when they ambushed and shot at me.
I thank God because I am a believer in Jesus. My prayer is that God will change their hearts and make them understand the truth. I also urge Christians to rise and protect themselves.
We know God is with us, and we’ve never provoked the Fulani. I have lived in Miango for 17 years and never seen our people offend them. They are always the ones attacking, destroying farmlands, and killing innocent people.
Last year, they burnt my house; this year, they attacked and shot me again. My prayer is for God to open their eyes because we bear no hatred towards them. I also want Christians to know that we must defend ourselves, as there is little security support—soldiers are not helping us at all.”
