Nigerian singer Euphemia Ekumah, popularly known as GoodGirl LA, has shared a deeply personal story about her battle with depression and how it led to a life-changing period of self-discovery.

In a series of posts on X, the 28-year-old artist revealed that during a tough phase of isolation, she focused on self-mastery and refused to compromise her values, even when offered career opportunities others would have taken. Despite being called "crazy" by some, she stood her ground, believing strongly in her path and artistic vision.

She recounted how friends distanced themselves and how her own parents labelled her a failure during this time. These experiences, she said, reshaped her perspective on life and success.

“The cheers and boos aren’t what any of this is about,” she wrote. “It’s really all about art, touching my people and the world.”

GoodGirl LA emphasized that her priority remains making meaningful music and inspiring lives, no matter the challenges.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
