TINUBU APPOINTS DALORI AS ACTING APC CHAIRMAN AS GANDUJE STEPS DOWN

President Bola Tinubu has directed Ali Bukar Dalori to take over as the acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje formally submitted his resignation to the party's National Working Committee (NWC) through the National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru.

The APC has now confirmed the development, ending speculation and uncertainty surrounding Ganduje’s status.

APC spokesperson Felix Morka announced that Dalori, the Deputy National Chairman (North), will serve in an acting capacity until the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) convenes to elect a substantive chairman.

Morka stated, “The President has directed Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori to assume the position of Acting National Chairman, pending the NEC meeting, which will be convened shortly to fill the vacancy.”

Although earlier reports suggested Ganduje stepped down for health reasons, sources indicate his resignation was part of broader political moves possibly aimed at smoothing the path for Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid. There is also speculation that the move could open the door for the return of a prominent northern politician.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
