President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new executive directors to the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), a body recently established to boost development in the region.

The announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The new appointees are:

Biliquis Sanni – Executive Director, Administration & Human Resources

Aisha Ibrahim – Executive Director, Commercial and Industrial Development

James Uloko – Executive Director, Corporate Services

Muhammad Bashar – Executive Director, Finance

Atika Ajanah – Executive Director, Projects

According to the statement, the directors are expected to work hand in hand with the NCDC governing board to deliver on the commission’s mandate.

President Tinubu urged the appointees to focus on promoting and coordinating sustainable development across the North-Central zone, which includes Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau States, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The NCDC, signed into law in February 2025, was created to tackle the region’s long-standing challenges such as insecurity, flooding, ecological degradation, and poor infrastructure. It is also tasked with promoting economic growth and industrial development in the area.

With the new appointments, the commission is expected to hit the ground running and provide lasting solutions to the issues affecting communities in the North-Central region.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
