TINUBU APPOINTS GLOBAL-MINDED ECONOMIST PETER EZE AS FCC COMMISSIONER FOR ENUGU STATE
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Peter Ogbonna Eze, a distinguished economist and seasoned administrator with global experience, as the Federal Character Commission (FCC) Commissioner representing Enugu State.
The announcement, made Monday by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga alongside 36 other commissioner appointments nationwide, marks a major milestone for Eze—a native of Aji, Igbo Eze North—whose career blends academic excellence, corporate leadership, and public service.
Eze, a protégé of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has carved a reputation for driving organisational growth, fostering international partnerships, and championing sustainable development.
A University of Nigeria, Nsukka graduate with Second Class Upper Honours in Economics, he further earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, where he was named Most Outstanding Student in 2019.
His résumé spans top-level roles in journalism, corporate management, logistics, and global market strategy—ranging from directing operations at The New Telegraph to leading Africa expansion strategies for Chinese firms. He has received multiple accolades, including the Rotary International Leadership Excellence Award and the China–Nigeria Friendship Award.
With his broad experience across private and public sectors, Eze is expected to bring strategic planning expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and a results-driven approach to advancing the FCC’s mission of fairness, equity, and balanced representation in federal appointments and resource distribution.
